Meet the Executive Director of TEP!

Rhondine Petrof • March 25, 2014

My name is Rhondine Petrof and I am the Executive Director of TEP. Allow me to tell you about myself and my beautiful home country of Belize!

Our Awesome Executive Director, Rhondine, ziplining with a TEP alum!

Belize is a beautiful country blessed with a variety of natural resources and diverse people and cultures. As a native of Belize, learning and understanding the various cultures on a deeper level is one of my life’s passions. Additionally, being a conduit for connecting local people with international faculty and students is a great way of contributing to the development of my country.

The field of international education has the potential of being the next winning industry for Belize. This is one reason I founded Toucan Education Programs Limited (TEP) in 2010. In addition to creating self-employment and employment and economic growth for others, TEP was established to provide programs that truly places the interest of Belize and its people first.

The desire to serve my country runs deep, and international education affords me many opportunities to serve by connecting local organizations and people with international faculty and students.

Furthermore, international education fosters peace and development when foreign students are exposed to people and cultures that are different.

Being a small program provider operating in Belize comes with its own set of challenges. However, my commitment to working for the overall good of my country and those who participate in our programs positions TEP as the go-to organization for unique study abroad programs in Belize.

Our mantra for all programs design by TEP is – “Serve, Learn, Explore.”  It is my wish that this mantra will be adopted by everyone who considers studying abroad not only in Belize but wherever they choose to go. We hope to see you soon!
