Belizean money is called the dollar and is pegged with the US dollar 2 to 1 for easy conversion. Belize economy is based on agriculture, tourism, and services.

English is the official language of the country. Other languages spoken include Kriol, Garifuna, Mayan, Spanish, and Old German.

This young developing country is doing tremendous work with limited resources to conserve and protect its natural resources for future generations. It is estimated that approximately 26% of Belize land and sea is preserved.

Belize is a natural habitat for several rare species of the animal kingdom including Black Howler Monkeys, Jaguars, native birds such as the Keel-Billed Toucan and migratory birds.
